In the beginning was the WORD,
and the WORD was with God,
and the WORD was God.
The same was in the beginning with God.
All things were made by Him;
and without Him was not anything made that was made.
In Him was life; and the life was the LIGHT of man.
And the LIGHT shineth in darkness;
and the darkness comprehended it not.
There was a man sent from God,
whose name was John.
The same came for a witness,
to bear witness of the LIGHT,
that all men through him might believe.
He was not that LIGHT,
but was sent to bear witness of that LIGHT.

He that followeth me shall not walk in darkness,
but shall have the LIGHT of life.

I am the WAY.
The TRUTH,
And the LIFE:
No man cometh unto the Father,
But by ME.

God calls us to bear witness to Jesus Christ, just as John the Baptist did.
Jesus is the WAY, and we must share that message with all those God brings into our life.
There are those who say that there are different paths to God, but God’s Word tells us different.
Jesus Christ is the only way. He came to show us the WAY to the Father, the WAY to restore the relationship broken by sin.
Oswald Chambers wrote in My Utmost For His Highest:
There is only one relationship that matters,
and that is your personal relationship to a personal Redeemer and Lord.
Let everything else go,
but maintain that at all costs,
and God will fulfil His purpose through your life.
One individual life may be of priceless value to God’s purposes,
and yours may be that life.
We light this candle as a symbol of Christ the Way.
May the Word sent from God through the prophets lead us to the way of salvation.
